Starting a fitness journey is never easy, but these do’s and don’ts are sure to help.

DO find what works for you

There’s no right or wrong way to start a new fitness journey, but it is important to find out what works for you.

Whereas some people will prefer to join a sports team, others will prefer to focus on their workouts at the gym.

Take the time to consider what you’re going to enjoy the most, as this will encourage you to keep going.

DON’T forget about nutrition

A lot of people begin a fitness journey by working out more and increasing the amount of exercise that they do.

However, they then forget about nutrition.

Nutrition is a huge part of staying fit and healthy, as there’s no point in working out if you’re going to survive off fast food and ready meals.

Think about what you’re putting into your body.

DO change it up

It’s very easy to become bored when you’re doing the same sort of workout each and every day.

So, change it up. Switch between different exercises, different sports and different fitness classes.

This will help you to stay interested and motivated.

DON’T give up straight away

It can take a little bit of time to get into the swing of a new fitness journey, which is why you shouldn’t give up straight away.

Give yourself time to get used to your new routine.

Eventually, it’ll become something you can’t imagine life without.

There are so many different ways to improve fitness, so it can be difficult to know where to start.

Should you focus on one type of sport or should you mix it up every once in a while?

Should you focus solely on cardio or should you find a more holistic approach?

One of the most important things is to find a fitness journey that suits you and your lifestyle, otherwise you run the risk of giving up far earlier than you would like.
